There are a lot of house sitting membership websites out there, and honestly, most of them are pretty good.

But… they seem to allow anyone to join, and aren’t necessarily family friendly. Some of them are even set-up to exclude families from applying!

We’re Natalie and Michael Peachey, and we created Family Friendly House Sitters because it’s the site we would want to join.

About Family Friendly House Sitters - The Peachey Family

Well for starters, it’s the only family focused house sitting community. Yes, we still allow home owners to create a listing if they don’t have kids at home… but it’s a condition of membership that all home owners are willing to accept family house sitters.

Personally, we’ve also had some ‘varied’ experiences when it comes to house sitting. Why? Because these were organised through social media. We quickly realised that a stress-free house sit really boils down to two things. Firstly, knowing if you’re a good fit for each other, and then good communication about what’s required. So we’ve designed home listing templates and house sitter profiles to include the information we wish we knew in the past. Also, our handover checklists make sure that everyone is on the same page.

We love surprises, just not when it comes to house sitting!

You’ll also get blog posts where we share the things that we and our member community have learned. Sure, at lot of this will be about having a successful house sitting experience. We’ll also share content and product reviews to generally help you on your travel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Us

We’re Natalie, Michael, and we’re travelling around Australia in a caravan with our three kids Chloe (7), Elliot (4), and Edward (1). We live a pretty unique lifestyle, so we get a lot of the same questions over and over. Here are some of the most common.

Where Do You Guys Live?

That’s a difficult question to answer. We rented our house out to do a lap of Australia. We, uh, got a little side tracked on our itinerary. That was the beginning of 2018, and we’re still travelling. So although technically we live in a lovely part of South Australia called Coromandel Valley, we live in our caravan.

Is this Website Your Job that Funds Your Travels?

Far from it. Even though we’re treating this as a job, it’s more of a passion project. We left Adelaide the beginning of 2018 with a shedload of annual leave and long service leave. We’ve continued to work while we’ve been on the road, either working remotely or picking up work around the country.

You can learn more about all of that on our other site, A Big Peachey Adventure… or check out our podcast, The Family Travel Podcast.

When Do You Land Back in Your House Exactly?

Good question.

I Know a Home Owner Who is About to Travel, and is Family Friendly. Want an Intro?

Our favourite part about our big adventure is hearing other families’ stories, sharing them… and especially hearing how this has inspired other families to do the same. It’s amazing. We love getting to meet new families, and appreciate every home owner who is willing to let families house sit.
